Chapter 5 - Room 719The old library smelled of leather, dust, and secrets.

Julian had always hated that room.

As a child, he had thought the dark mahogany shelves looked like prison bars. His father had spent long nights there before his death, drinking black coffee and writing in a locked journal Julian was never allowed to touch.

Reeves looked up. “Found it.”

He pressed a small brass button hidden beneath the shelf.

A low mechanical groan filled the room.

The bookcase shuddered, then slowly moved inward.

A black opening appeared behind it.

Cold air breathed out.

Elena instinctively stepped back.

Julian reached for her hand.

She looked down at their fingers, then up at him.

He did not let go.

Reeves switched on a flashlight.

“Stay behind me.”
